Step 1
Create your VidCruiter Account
Before you begin, you’ll need to create a VidCruiter account. VidCruiter is the online platform used for conducting BCom Video Interviews. After registering, you’ll receive an automated email from no-reply@myvideointerview.ca to verify your email address. Please check your inbox (and your spam/junk folder) and complete the verification process before proceeding.
Step 2
Set Up Your Tech and Try a Practice Question
Follow VidCruiter's instructions and test your equipment before starting. If you run into issues, try the troubleshooting tips and FAQs. Still stuck? You can contact the technical support team on the VidCruiter platform for assistance.
Once your equipment is ready, you’ll have the chance to answer a practice question. You can record and replay your response up to three times to get comfortable. Practice responses are not evaluated.
Step 3
Record your Formal Responses
You’ll answer three formal interview questions – one attempt per question. The full interview takes around six minutes.
-
Each question is presented as a short video.
-
After the question plays, you’ll have 30 seconds to prepare and up to 90 seconds to respond.
-
A countdown timer will help you manage your time.
After recording each response, review it to ensure it uploaded correctly. If there’s a technical issue, contact VidCruiter support using the button at the bottom of the page.
Step 4
Choose your Best Two Responses
After completing all three questions, select the two responses that best represent you.
Only these two will be submitted with your application — so don’t worry if one didn’t go as planned!
Step 5
Add Your Interview Link to Your UBC Application
Once you’ve finalized your selections, copy the personalized video interview link provided in your final confirmation email and paste it into your UBC online application where indicated.
